Dinkum Diaries is a lifestyle and editorial platform founded by Marina Townsend, created to share the experiences, knowledge and perspectives of women who have developed, evolved and established themselves across different areas of life and society.

The publication provides a space for conversations that are often overlooked, combining personal stories, interviews and cultural commentary with explorations of history, social issues and previously unspoken subjects. These stories are presented through a highly curated visual language, creating an editorial platform that feels both thoughtful and accessible to a new generation of readers.

While primarily developed as a digital publication, Dinkum Diaries was conceived with a longer-term physical presence in mind. Each year’s collection of articles, interviews and stories can be brought together as an annual hardback edition, a considered publication designed to exist as both a record of the conversations taking place and a permanent coffee-table object.

STÜDYO.STUDIO worked with Marina Townsend during the foundational stages of the publication to develop the visual and strategic framework for the brand. The project included the creation of a distinct brand language, logo and typographic system, alongside editorial layouts and flexible design structures for interviews, stories and longer-form articles.

Beyond the visual identity, the collaboration also explored the structure of each issue and the wider strategy behind bringing together the right contributors, voices and stories at the right time.

Over a three month period, the project established many of the foundations that continue to define Dinkum Diaries today, creating a platform where meaningful conversations are supported by a confident, contemporary and highly considered visual identity.
